Call for Papers and Presentations

Queer in Cryptography is looking for you to submit your papers and presentations to our 2025 conference!

The Queer in Crypto 2025 conference is accepting submissions for papers and presentations. We are looking for papers and presentations on the following topics:

  • Novel cryptographic results from LGBTQIA+ researchers.
  • Cryptographic constructions, applications, systems, and implementations useful or unique to LGBTQIA+ people, particularly under repressive regimes. This includes topics such as anonymous communication, covert communication, deniable messaging, and more.
  • Queer in Industry: challenges, opportunities, and considerations unique to LGBTQIA+ people working in cryptography.
  • Queer Privacy: novel perspectives, new tools, and practical advice for LGBTQ+ folks to maintain their privacy in adverse political and social climates
  • We’ve Been Here Forever: history or social science talks dealing with the intersections of history, cryptography, and LGBTQIA+.

Presentations should be 15-20 minutes long; please be sure to leave some time for questions!

While we are open to a limited number of papers and presentations by people who don’t identify as queer, this conference is meant to emphasize and center folks in the queer community. We encourage everybody to apply!

Important information:

  • DEADLINE EXTENDED: Please submit your proposal no later than 13 December 2024 20 January 2025. The Call for Papers and Presentations has now closed. Thank you to everybody who submitted!
  • Due to the variety of accepted topics, we are not imposing a strict format requirement; we invite authors to select the format they consider most appropriate
